This course is designed to provide participants with an understanding of the principles and practices of emergency management for water systems in Texas. The course covers topics such as the Incident Command System (ICS), the National Incident Management System (NIMS), the role and responsibilities of the Texas Division of Emergency Management, the requirements and components of an Emergency Preparedness Plan (EPP), mutual aid agreements, and the identification and protection of critical components of water systems. The learning objectives of the course include describing the purpose and benefits of ICS and NIMS, identifying the basic structure and principles of ICS, explaining the role of the Texas Division of Emergency Management, summarizing the requirements of an EPP, and understanding the importance of mutual aid agreements. This course is intended for water system operators and other personnel involved in emergency management for water systems.
